Dry Bulk Cargo

From grains to coal and from rice to maize, dry bulk cargoes cover a range of produce and raw materials that have two features in common: they are unpacked and are homogeneous. These two properties make it easier for dry bulk cargoes to be dropped or poured into the hold of a bulk carrier. Dry bulk cargo such as Rice, wheat, maize, beans, fertilizer, sugar, cement, sodium nitrate, clinkers, gypsum, copper slugs, coal, iron ore and zinc ores.

Break Bulk Cargo

These are goods that must be loaded individually, including containers. Examples of break bulk cargo that are frequently handled at MPA are iron, steel, metals, motor vehicles & parts, trailers & parts, agri-products, , machinery, copper, railway vehicles, tractor & tractor parts, containers.

Bulk Liquid

Bulk Liquid such as petroleum products, kerosene, diesel, jet oil, and edible oil

Harbor Services

The safety of your ship as it enters any of our ports is one of our top priorities. We offer a number of services to all vessels that enter our port including pilotage and mooring, to ensure that your vessel is safely docked and allowing you to safely conduct your business at our port.

Pilotage

Vessels Traffic System (VTS) Services, Piloting vessels in and out Port available for 24 hours for Container, ROR, and General cargo vessels, KOJ Vessels berthing and unberthing only day light, SPM Vessels berthing only daylight and unberthing at any time

Mooring/Unmooring

Mooring/Unmooring vessel at Berth using mooring boats along the Berth, service boat and one tug available for mooring SPM Vessel

Tugging

There are Four (4) berthing tugs including A50 55 Bollard pull available.

  • Assisting vessels maneuvering in and out with two tugs.
  • Towing vessels

 

 

Support Services

Police and Fire

Our police and fire teams are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to any emergency at the port and neighboring areas. The fully functional and well equipped fire brigade consists of experienced firemen and rescue professionals, armed with the top of the line equipment and vehicles to tackle anything from fires and explosions to chemical and biological hazards. The brigade does periodical drills to ensure the staff, visitors and other port users are well prepared for any emergency response. The drills are used to benchmark response time and further used to train the emergency responders, staff and port users in order to maintain a constant state of readiness and awareness. The brigade also participates in firefighting efforts outside port areas in collaboration with respective local authorities.

Ambulance and Medical Response Teams

MPA’s medical response team are trained to handle any medical emergencies around the port areas. The teams work with the chief medical officer to ensure that the staff and any other port users are in sound mental and physical healthy state. The medical team has a dedicated health center fully equipped with medical staff, a health clinic and an emergency center capable of performing life-saving surgery. There is also a 24-hour ambulance service with an on the clock first responders team. There is also a fully equipped gym and fitness center with professional trainers to keep staff fit and free from stress and opportunistic diseases
